Has anyone stayed in a rear cabin on a Celebrity ship. We are considering one of these cabins on the Summit because of the space and wondered about the noise/vibration of the engines. Thanks.

I've never been in a rear cabin on a Celebrity ship, but I've been in several rear cabins on Royal Cribbean ship and really like them, mostly because of the larger balconies. There was never any noise, and the only vibration I noticed was when we were at full speed to make up time, and that was very slight. I think you'll be happy with a rear cabin.

Although I've had many aft cabins, on Celebrity and other lines, I've never felt any big differences in vibration or noise. However, in the case of the Summit, it uses azipod propulsion units which means there are no shafts and screws on the aft. Azipod ships are very smooth. Summit also has gas turbines and not diesels for providing the electrical power. Gas turbines are also smooth running.

We booked a rear cabin on Constellation, the cabin was regular size, but a hugh balcony. I did find that the vibration was worse there than in a regular cabin. You feel the vibration mostly through your feet.
