G'day all, Were looking at an Alaskan cruise in Aug or Sept. Mercury does the round trip from Vancouver and Infinity does the round trip from Seattle. We would rather do the Vancouver trip as we felt it would give us more time in Alaska but we have read a lot of bad reviews about the Mercury (dirty, poor service etc). The most recent was 2006 though, so have they improved? Does anyone have good experiences with the Mercury or more info?
We sailed the Mercury in July 2007, Vancouver to Alaska, and had a great time. The ship is in fine shape. The food and service were excellent, not only in the dining room but in the cafes and other venues as well. I would not hesitate to sail Mercury if you prefer that itinerary.
Thanks Sandy, i guess the only way to really know for sure is to try it out... it's good to get feedback from those who have been there and done that. Do you have any idea what Celebrity is like for young children{4yo girl}?
Almost every cruise line, including Celebrity, has children's programs in place during the summer and school holidays. While Celebrity is known for a slightly older demographic, there are a lot of families with children on the summer cruises, and kids seem to like the children's program.
