Hello, new member, but I've read these forums for a while.

We booked a room on the Spirit, room 8000. It's an oceanview, category CC. One thing we liked is that it is larger (almost 250 sq ft I think) than the other oceanview rooms, and it was the same price as the smaller rooms. I thought this would be pretty good, just give us more room to stretch out, have friends in the room, etc. However, it's at the very front of the ship and above a bar, so now I'm a little worried about various noises.

Anyone have any ideas about this room or similar rooms on NCL? Here is a link to the boat deck plans: http://www.ncl.com/nclweb/fleet/deckplan.html?shipCode=SPIRIT

Room 8000 and 8500 seem to be the largest oceanview rooms on the ship and what seemed like a really good deal now has me worried that I missed something.

Advice?

Thanks!!!

We were on the Spirit in March. Maharajahs Lounge is right below you, plus the casino area. We spent some time in the casino and walked through the lounge a few times to see what was going on. It was a quiet , relaxed area - lots of fluffy pillows and couches to sit and have drinks. I don't know what happened after the late night snack - it may have turned into the 'spot to hang' but I can't imagine you would hear a lot - it was all drapped in heavy material. Open the window - have a drink - the ocean will rock you to sleep - you won't hear a thing ThumbUp

Great to hear! Thanks! We're looking forward to our first cruise on NCL, read some reviews about the ship, seems to be an average ship, but it's got to be better than being in the midwest right? Smile

The Spirit was our 1st cruise so I have nothing to comapare it to... We LOVED it... so many people have SO many opinions (thats what I love about this forum) but remember to make it yours - spend all day sleeping or hit the ship running - its for you and you only to screw up... so don't Big Grin I really don't think its possible!! Enjoy your time - we sail again in March 08 on the Dawn - I love freestyle!!

I'm under the impression that it has a window, but I don't know since I've never stayed in that room before.

The reason I ask is because I stayed in a cabin similar to that on a carnival and it was 2 times the size but had 3 portholes. I liked the portholes better, maybe because we had so much room. Wave
