I have made reservations for the Dec. 7,06 cruise aboard the Dawn-the cabin is outside/obstructed view (Cabin 8586)-How Limited is the view from these cabins?

Your window has a 90% obstruction, most likely from a lifeboat. We've had similar cabins on other ships -- including several that were listed as 100% obstructed -- and it wasn't so bad. The most important thing for us was getting some natural light into the cabin, which happens even if the view is fully obstructed. It's not at all like an inside cabin where there is no window at all. While you won't be able to see a lot from your cabin, there are many places on the ship you can go to enjoy the view.

I have never stayed in an obstructed cabin before and can't comment. I would suggest you ask for a guarantee cabin of cat#?? (ie level 8, obstructed view). This way, there is a chance you will get a better cabin at the same price. Good luck.

I have cabin 8108, my TA assures me this is one of the 10% of ostructed view cabins that have a view. We are on the Star but it seems the deck plans are the same.
