Are the dress code expectations the same for children? Could my seven year old wear a nice (not t-shirt) and jeans?

It has gotten so anyone can wear a nice shirt and jeans.....Formality is kind of a dying duck.
On formal night on the Pearl, most were in casual dress....I wore a sports coat and felt very comfortable in doing so....Just NO SHORTS for anyone...Happy sailing...

Dress suggestions for kids are typically the same as adults, so what you described is fine for NCL, so long as the jeans are not tattered. Enjoy your cruise!
