When is the best time to place spa appointments? Does the spa book ahead, or is it first come first served? Trying to make this cruise as enjoyable as possible.
I'd suggest that you make the spa your first stop on the ship after you board, and make your appointments then. Some fill up quickly. For instance, hair appointments for formal night (yes, even optional formal night) are difficult to get. Many treatments on sea days also fill up quickly. So, if there is anything specific you are looking for, make those reservations shortly after boarding.
I found on NCL as the week goes by the specials start flowing. Call them on day 2 and ask if there are any up coming specials. When you get your nightly newsletter delivered to your cabin there are usually sale flyers included. Last year on the Jewel I got 30 min massage/facial for $99.00

Once you get on board the Spa will have an open house, you will be able to meet the ladies/men/staff and complete a walk thru of the facility. I am sure that you will find it to be very comfortable. As other posters have written there are specials posted in the cruise daily that is delivered to your stateroom. The staff of the Spa will know on what days the specials are, and what specials are being offered. I would suggest that you ask the staff when taking the on-board tour the first day, that you discuss what procedure you are seeking. There will be specials thru-out the week, but perhaps NOT what you are seeking, so try to give them an advance notice and perhaps they can sign you up for a particular day. On formal nights which are optionable for NCL passengers, many passengers will get decked out in dress, and many ladies will have their hair done in the spa/salon, so be prepared for that day. Doubtful you will find specials that day. The cruise is for pleasure, so get pampered as much as you can. You will enjoy the Spa.
on ncl majesty to bermuda made appointment easily, but!! once in the chair they tried to up sell me everything under the sun, I was so frustrated at the end it wasn't worth the visit.
