Louis Cruise Line announced today that it reached an agreement with Star Cruises to purchase the Norwegian Dream and Norwegian Majesty.

The Dream will continue sailing for NCL until November 2008, and the Majesty until December 2009.

Here's a link to the press release:

http://www.lloydslist.com/ll/news/louis-inks-380m-deal-...EDC1B3C5392BBBF15089

Louis Cruises will pay Star Cruises a total of $380 million for both ships. Specifically $218 million for Norwegian Dream and $162 million for the Norwegian Majesty.

So, now we know what the value of the Superstar Aquarius, ex-Norwegian Wind is.

I'm going to miss the huge Oceanview cabins on the Dream. By the end of this year, the only NCL ship with fairly large Oceanview cabins left will be the Norwegian Sun.

I am in Charleston this weekend for a wedding and was doing the tourist thing today. The Majesty was just a couple blocks away from me, loading up for the next cruise to Bermuda. My sister asked about taking that cruise. All I could say was "better hurry".

Dave, I hope you waved hello to my favorite ship for me. Smile

We're excited about our short cruise on N. Dream next weekend, although we know it will be our last time on one of the "older" NCL ships. Seems to me that we've had a lot of these farewell cruises lately.

Happy cruising,
LisaP

From my vantage point, the Majesty looked great. Oddly enough, our first cruise was supposed to be on this ship when it was the Royal Majesty in 1992. Something happened with the group booking and the whole theme cruise was moved to HAL's Westerdam.
