WOuld like to know if anyone has taken the catamaran cruise shore excursion on NCL spirit? Do you snorkel after you get to the beach? My husband is not a great swimmer and thinks the excursion to gorda baths and swimming to shore to snorkel is too much for him. Do they have life vests?
According to the shore excursion description on the NCL Web site (click HERE), the Catamaran Cruise does include time for snorkeling.
Given the description for the Virgin Gorda Baths & Snorkel excursion (click HERE), particularly the part about swimming 50 to 100 yards, I'd say your husband made a wise decision to forgo that option.
We took the Catamaran Fury snorkel and beach party in Cozumel. They drive you out a ways to snorkel and then you board and they drive anther 45 minutes to the beach to hang out for about an hour. It was a blast! All in our party loved it.
i did this excursion in july. you take the catamaran to an island and snorkel for about 45 minutes(with life vests)after that you go to a beach with a bar and restaruant on the beach.

You are very bouyant in salt water. Every snorkeling excursion will require you to wear a snorkel vest. With fins on it requires very little effort to propel yourself. I do hope your husband will try snorkeling, it is a beautiful world underneath the ocean. I bet he'll see how easy it is to move through the water. Best wishes and have a wonderful cruise!
