Very good comments to the above. I couldn't agree more.
Maybe someone who's been chiming in on this ship should go book a trip on it and then give thier review, All the people so far have never even been on Pride Of Hawaii. And it seems That The Stars And Stipes on the back detering them from doing so.
I apologise if my views were seen critical to be critical of people in the USA .My husband & Myself are by choice U S citizens and are very proud of the USA , I was pointing out what I thought were reasons for the NCL problem , & agree that we agree with you the problems with a lot of the youngsters both here & other countries that think once they have finished school life is going to be easy , & if you think it is bad here it is even worse in the U K with the socialised system where kids can get unemployment as soon as they leave school . Sorry for deviating from the original subject but you will find me as one of the biggest U S A flag wavers both here & abroad tnank you all for allowing our family to share your wonderful country
Tthe junks there have been quite a few comments by others tha have cruised on the POH & POA on cruise critic. also on there on ships news that NCL is going to re flag Pride of Hawaii to Bahamas registry in Feb 08 & rename her Norwegian Jade.
Your sentiments about America are appreciated. It's easy to bash her if you look at some of the ills of our society and youth in particular. It's also easy to praise her, just re-read the Constitution, Declaration of Independence or writings by the founders and their sacrifices to create this wonderful country.
Then you look at the tax code, school system, elected officials, and wonder how we've strayed so far. One thing I love about cruising (to get back on topic) is getting to come back home. If you can visit Jamaica or Belize and not come back and apprecite what we have you're not looking very hard.
I think we have heard from the segment of our society that embodies entitlement. I am, so I deserve. To those who demand entitlement: Get Real. Earn it.

I always wonder on some of these complaints, whether it really is about food, excursions, drinks, tipping etc. Could it possibly be due to the fact that when people book a cruise, they see a price of "7 days for $499". When they total up the bill at the end of the week it easily could be 4 times this amount, thus the bitterness sets in about not meeting their expectations.
I personally agree that a cruise is the best vacation per dollar you can spend. Again to reiterate GC's comment "reasonable expectations".
