I'm taking my first cruise on the Star on 8/21 - we have room 8120 which is an Obstructed view - handicap accessible room. Does anyone know how much of the view is obstructed?
Welcome to Cruise-chat Jenner. I cannot answer how obstructed your cabin may be, but I will say that in December 2004 I booked a couple on the NCL Majesty and to save on $$ they chose to take the obstructed view. They stated that as long as they received a little sunlight in their cabin they would be fine. When I booked the cabin for them I called NCL and asked just how obstructed the cabin was, they had different % of obstruction. The one they were in was 15% obstructed. Well, when they arrived on the ship, the only thing obstructed was the very top of the window the bottom of the lifeboat was what they saw, they had a clear view out the window.
I would suggest that you contact your travel agent, or call NCL directly and ask them what the percentage of the blockage is, you might be pleasently surprised.
Obstructed view means there will be a life boat/tender stowed just outside your window. Instead of a view when you open the curtains, you will see a boat.
