hello! i am a kid that has been on 4 cruises! 3 of them which are Norwegian Cruise Lines.
if you are a parent with kids then you dont need to worry! I am 12 years old and i have a sister who is 10 years old. We have so much fun whenever we go on Norwegian Cruise Lines!
We always sign up for the kids club-you dont have to go if you don't want to-you can do so much there! they have parties, and scavenger hunts around the ship! You also meet usually about 20 other kids! ALL DIFFERENT AGES! it is so cool. during the day if you have nothing to do(which is impossible) then you could go down to the kids club and hang out. This April me and my sister will be going on a Norwegian cruise with a bunch of other families! WHO HAPPEN TO HAVE ALOT OF KIDS! THe other families have never been on a cruise before and they are always telling me and my family that we seem more excited and my mom just says, ITS SO MUCH FUN! so if you are going on a cruise, dont worry you will have a blast! AND KIDS GET READY FOR THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE!

I am so glad you shared your enthusiasm with us. My daughter started cruising when she was 4 and at 22 it is still her VERY FAVORITE kind of vacation. Just like you, she loved to share her joy of cruising with other kids. Keep having fun!!!!

I am looking at the Star for August of 2006. I will have an 8 year old (his 3rd cruise) and a 3 1/2 year old. I have never done Alaska before and I am worried about it being rough, how is it? Will the ship have a lot of other children? Thanks!

There is very little rough water on Alaska cruises, depending on your itinerary. If you are doing a roundtrip Inside Passage from either Seattle or Vancouver, there will probably be only a few hours, most likely overnight one night, of even remotely rough seas (8 to 10 feet, maybe). If you are going northbound or southbound between Seattle/Vancouver and Seward, there will probably be one day that could be a bit rough. During those times is when you are exposed to the Pacific Ocean; otherwise, you're sheltered in the Inside Passage.
