My advice is to forget Norwegian if you are looking for a quality cruise line! I have been trying to get through to get some action with their "Customer Relations" department for over six months now! They have, in that time, gone through THREE directors. And I still have no direct response. All this after they dumped my luggage in a pool of water on dock. Stay away from them.
Norwegian is not the only cruise line where it is near impossible to get any kind of customer realtions response. So if you determination of a "quality line" is based only on that, I'm not sure you are going to be able to find one. NCL is not the most expensive cruise line out there, and the saying holds true that you get what you pay for. Although, I have a friend that just came back from a Celebrity cruise. He had an major toliet leak in his cabin that took 3 days to resolve. What did he get for the trouble? A fruit basket. Not what you would expect from a "quality cruise line", but he still claims that he had a great time.
3Cruise3- I'll be on the Dream after you (she leaves the Med and comes to Houston in October.) So I can't say much about her. She is an older ship, so I'm not expecting too much, but I believe you control your experience. If every little thing becomes a vacation destructing issue, then you will not have fun. Go and enjoy yourself. And don't sweat the small stuff.

I'm taking the Dream's Baltic cruise June 16. Should be back by the First of July. Check with me then! I expect it to be wonderful, but I'm not royalty, so it doesn't take much to please me. I agree with the comment that "you get what you pay for". The price is reasonable, so I don't expect five star service, meals, or accomodations.
Jim makes a good point, that a lot of it is attitude. Dream is by now an older ship, and has fewer alternate restaurants than the newer NCL ships; the alternates are a great enhancement to Freestyle dining. However, if you're not married to dressing up on formal nights, then Freestyle is a comfortable way to cruise.
Will be interested to hear how your cruise goes next month, jls4lennon! Please write a cruise review when you return!

NCL is not all bad it just depends on your experience. So you wont know everything by getting it from people ( althought you might find some info) the best thing to do is experience it for yourself.
I saw by your response that you will be cruising the Caribbean on a Princess Cruiseship in November. My husband and I sailed on the Caribbean Princess in November of 04. Wonderful ship, wonderful experience. I hope you enjoy your cruise. I prefer Princess to Norwegian but will be sailing the Norwegian Dawn in September.
