Question:
this will be our first cruise and would appreciate any information that will enable us to get the best out of our holiday.we are cruising in june on the norwegian wind around alaska and would like any informaton on what to wear on board and any excursions to take.

The best advice I can offer is to dress in layers. Depending on the time of your cruise, Alaska can be cold, cool, and some days are even warm. Always bring a jacket, gloves, warm shoes for going outside the ship and shore excursions. For a more specific list of do's, go to www.cruisediva.com. You will find a list that will get you started. We're going on the Sun on June 8th. This is our fourth trip, and each time the weather has been different.

I live in Seattle Wa, and I have taken my share of Alaska cruises.

I can tell you to bring lots of sweaters, and jogging suits if you like to run...

Depending upon your cruise line they frown upon wearing jeans.

Don't bring ski wear or winter coats...
it's not that cold but at night the weather drops into the 40's to 50's. And one season it was colder than normal. It rain all week long!

Normally, in the day time the weather is very warm in the summer..ranging from mid 60's to 70's

We don't have a wind chill factor here in the Pacific NW ... but this year we are having a mild spring...mid 40's in the mornings to 60's in the afternoon.
