I think I saw some TV commercial in the past saying that Benihana Restaurants are on NCL cruise ships. Is that true?

Benihana is one of my favorite restaurants. I may just decide to cruise on an NCL ship if that ship has a Benihana restaurant.

Sorry to disappoint, but there are no Benihana Restaurants aboard NCL ships. But there are Teppanyaki tables aboard NCL ships, which provide a similar experience like Benihana. You'll find the Teppanyaki tables aboard all NCL ships located within the Asian restaurant, except the Majesty, Dream, and Pride of Aloha.

The Spirit only has one Teppanyaki table able to seat approximmately 12, the rest have two Teppanyaki tables. Reservations are required, and there is a surcharge. Book your reservations as soon as you embark the ship, as the limited seats at the limited number of tables go fast.

Both the Jewel and the Pearl each have 4 Teppanyaki tables. I am not sure about the new NCL Gem. The cover charge is well worth the dining experience and highly recommend the Teppanyaki menu and show.

Thank you Ron, Richard and Mary. I will have to look into it further before deciding to cruise with NCL. Maybe I was halucinating when I saw the TV Commercial. Maybe wishful thinking? But I swore I saw Benihana advertised as being on NCL. Maybe Benihana once was onboard NCL ships, but not anymore?

I am sure that you saw the Teppanyaki chiefs performing as they cook on NCL. I have seen the same commerical and they put on quite a show. We have personally eaten at the Teppanyaki tables a few times and I highly recommend it. The whole dining experience is scheduled for 1 1/2 hours. You will need a reservation.
