I normally go to the NOHAA site and get the tropical weather outlook.. BUt then again I have never left from NYC.. so I don't know if they provide info on weather that far north. Surely you can google on maritime weather news ??

Here's a great site and very easy to use. http://www.weatherunderground.com/MAR/Then scan down below the map and look for the area that you will be sailing. Be sure to click on the numbers like i.e.41111 as these are buoys in the sea that send the data to the weatherunderground. This is very accurate information. I am sure that this may be one of the best websites, and will provide the information you request leaving New York City, sailing south along the coast. I think any cruiser that views this information will love the website. The amount of marine data is just GREAT!!!!! Enjoy.
