We are doing a 7 day from New York to Port Canaveral, Great Stirrup Cay, Nassau, etc. I've been reading several comments on the posts from people with regard to the stayover at Nassau. Supposedly, we will be getting there at night and leaving at noon the next day. Some people are saying that it is better/easier to just take a taxi cab ride from the port to Atlantis rather than do the tour(s) since they are expensive and require a lot of walking. Then you only have an hour or so to browse around yourself. Since we will be there at night, does anyone recommend this? All we really want to do is see the hotel and go to the casino. I really don't want to miss going there. But, since it will be at night, I'm assuming that we won't be seeing too much of the place otherwise. Any thoughts/suggestions? Thanks so much!
I personally would take a taxi over. I can't see the benefit of the tour, unless they are offering visits to places you cannot see on your own. Good luck in the casino and enjoy your cruise!
Since you will be there overnight, you would have the opportunity to have dinner at The Graycliff Restaurant the first 5-star restaurant in the Bahamas. I have eaten there and it was memorable!
