Can anyone advise the best Island in the Islands the cruise stops at to do a snorkling Shore Excursion. We are travelling on the Norwegian Star in August.

I can't think of the name of the beach, but the natives would be able to tell you. It's on the Eastern shore of Oahu, past Diamond Head. It's in a crescent shape, and so far down from the parking lot, that they have trams to take you down. We're too old to do snorkeling, but this almost gives me the courage to try. Crystal clear blue waters with many varieties of fish. The other place that I've heard many people rave about are the green turtles that you would take from Maui. Have fun. Wish I was going with you. We were just in Hawaii on a 2 week land trip. We love it there.

I'm not sure of the spelling, but it is Hanuemaumau Beach. My husband and I visited it in June. We are returning in Sept., and we plan to snorkel there. The view is said to be incredible. We are really looking forward to it. BTW, if you haven't read my husband's review of the Star go read it. We had a blast! Best wishes for a fun trip.

We live on the Big Island and the snorkeling here is great. If your cruise stops in Kailua Kona, take a cab to Kahaluu Beach. It is very shallow and full of fish. The very best snorkeling is at the Captain Cook Monument and the Fairwind has catamaran trips there so that is an option for you. Have a great time!

The beach past Diamond Head is Hanama Bay. Great place to snorkel especially for the beginner.
