If you are cruising later in September, after most schools are back in session, you will probably encounter a somewhat older crowd, and fewer families. This is definitely true if you are taking a cruise of 10 days or longer. However, the cruise lines that have the "senior" reputation are actually Holland America and Princess, not NCL. That said, the passenger mix could vary even on those lines.

I had to laugh when I read your post. I'm concerned about too many kids myself but will be sailing in Sept. when school is out so I will likely have less to be concerned about. As for seniors, I sailed to the Caribbean in late November of 04 on the Caribbean Princess and the ship was filled with seniors. I have to say however, these ships are so big and there is so much to do that it works for everyone. There will be a good mix I'm sure. We found friends of every age on our cruise. Now, you may trip over a wheelchair or two and heaven forbid that you get in their way.....ha ha
Have fun and don't worry. It will be great, I'm sure.
