There are many restaurants aboard the Jewel where you eat free, and just a few where you pay a surcharge to enter. The surcharge is more for reducing the numbers of diners since the speciality restaurants are small in size in comparison to the main restaurants.
Here's a list of restaurants aboard the Jewel. Tsar’s Palace (Main Dining Room) Cuisine: Continental Dress Code: No shorts or jeans after 6:00 p.m. in the dining rooms. Surcharge: No Reservations Required: No Hours: Breakfast: 7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. Lunch: 12:00 noon – 2:30 p.m. Dinner: 5:30 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.

I believe a glass of wine runs around $4 to $5 per glass. It'll be cheaper to buy a bottle of wine at your first dinner, then have the waiter store what you don't drink the first night for you to drink the rest of the cruise. If you wish, you can take the unfinished bottle of wine back to yur cabin. Either way, you'll save more money by buying a bottle of wine at a time over buying by the glass.

From http://www.ncl.com/more/fp_mi_w2n.htm#06 With the exception of Alaska and Hawaii itineraries, NCL permits guests between the ages of eighteen (18) and twenty (20) to purchase and personally consume wine and beer while on NCL ships with the consent of a parent or legal guardian (“Parental Consent”). Complete details and the Parental Consent form are available on board at the Reception Desk.
Casino rules: Admission Guests must be at least 18 years of age in order to gamble in the casino. NCL does not condone underage gaming. Anyone that cannot provide proof of age on request will be politely asked to vacate the casino.
Shore Excursion rules: Are there any restrictions? An adult must accompany participants under the age of 18 on all tours. There is no charge for children under the age of two who do not occupy a separate seat. Some tours have additional restrictions implemented for your safety. These may include age, weight, height and/or medical history related restrictions.
Thanks Ron! Very helpful. My kids are in that funny age - dont want to hangout with teen but too young for adult. I think they'll be very happy with the casino and dancing as they are not drinkers. Going on the Jewel in July to Italy...our 2nd cruise. Thanks for the info
