Just noticed it's 6 days until our cruise. Any problem with traveler's checks on the cruise? We will want to buy t-shirts on shore and shop. Can we cash some traveler's checks on board ship without a problem? I'd like some cash for street vendor purchases.

Yes, you can cash traveler's checks aboard the ship. But why pay American Express? It's far easier to use a credit card to pay for your shipboard expenses.

When you cash the traveler's checks, ask for small bills. It's easier if the vendors don't have to make change. It also comes in handy for tips and taxi rides.
You can still use a credit card for your onboard expenses and ask them to cash traveler's checks for going ashore.
