Hello all! Taking the Jan 19th cruise on the NCL Sun. Does anybody have some suggestions for shore excursions. I am just curious...never been cruising before. I am stopping in Roatan, Belize, Costa Maya, Great Stirrup Cay.

-how are the scuba diving trips? Are they safe, PADI certified, and from reputable people?

-what are some other good shore excursions for people who want to be active...

Roatan has some great beaches, a nice island tour, some local shopping....Belize city isn't much to look at...nice beaches...and some great Mayan ruins to go see...water caves are another thing....Old Belize River ride...manatees, howler monkees...some local shopping...Enjoy the cruise...

Th second largest coral reef system in the world starts in Cozumel and ends in Roatan, so there should be plenty of scuba and snorkeling opportunities at all the Sun's ports. I suggest going to cruise critic's port forums to get recommendations for different vendors/tours.

There's much to do on a Western Caribbean ashore, so take your time and pick the excursion you wish to do.

The only excursion I will recommend is in Belize, the New River Boat tour to Lamani. Although it rained heard on my trip, it was certainly worth the money.

As for your diving question, I can't help in tht regard, but NCL has been running its Dive In program for many years. Hopefully someone who has used them will respond to your question.

I've been to Great Stirrup Cay a number of times, but have not taken a shore excursion there. (I sunned, swam, ate...) Was there anything on the NCL site that interested you?
