Hey Guys,

I'm leaving in a few days for our cruise on the Dawn and am lucky enough to have a balcony! I'm so excited. Question...Are the balcony doors sliding or do they open like a regular door, and if they close automatically, what is the best way to keep them open? Will a piece of rope work? How would you attach something?

Thanks,
Susan

Hi Susan,

The balcony doors on the Pride of America were sliding and needed nothing to keep them open. I imagine it would be similar on all the ships in NCL's fleet.

Oh, thank you Captain Merky,

Perhaps I was on RCI's site but somewhere, people were talking about needing a device to hold the balcony door open.

Thanks,
Susan

the doors on the norwegian dawn slide open. and theres a lock that can either seal it tightly closed, or completely open. theres nothing extra you need, and it stays put =)
