Has anyone been on NCL out of Charleston? Charleston is only a 3 hour drive from home but I haven't read any good reviews about NCL. Please tell me something good!

We just got back (4 days ago) from 2 weeks on the Jewel, had a great time, nice clean ship and very good crew. All depends on what you are looking for though; there is always something about a cruise or a ship that is not always to ones liking however we only had a few issues on this ship.

NCL offers a good product. There are people that will always find things to complain about. They are a little more laid back than some of the other cruise lines, but we enjoyed all 3 of our NCL cruises. A co-worker sailed on the NCL Sun out of New Orleans last year and loved it. He was ready to book again when he returned. Richard and Mary's favorite cruise line is NCL. As Bryan stated, it depends on what you're looking for. Their ships are clean, their crews go out of their way to make your vacation enjoyable, and they offer a variety of dining options. I, personally, love the Dive-In program since I love to snorkel/dive. Best wishes.

We have just booked our 2nd cruise on the Norwegian Jewel. Although Princess is our favourite cruise line to date, there was nothing wrong with our previous NCL cruise. The staff was friendly, the food was good, the ship was clean.
Each line has its own style, NCL is more casual than most of the other cruises, but I think you will find more differences between ships than cruise lines. For example, bad food has more to do with the chef in charge on the ship than the cruise line.

MACLEODC, as you are talking of cruising from Charleston, the ship should be Norwegian Majesty. Let me know if that is not the case. Several of us posted our thoughts on Norwegian Majesty in this thread.

Happy cruising,

14 of my 19 cruises have been on NCL...and I will be doing more with them...Some of the older NCL ships aren't as nice as the newer ones, but I've always had a good time....No such thing as a bad cruise or ship...some are just better than others....Have a Great Cruise..
