Has anyone stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village for a pre or post cruise? I noticed the price was pretty good, but what type of room do you get. We want to stay before and after our cruise next year. Any experiences anyone has had there please share......Thanks
Neil, we stayed there for an anniversary trip to Hawaii in '96. Very nice! We had an upgraded room in the Rainbow Tower which was huge, but the regular ones seemed just fine too. Great place to stay - the pool area, the birds (resident penguins!), the shops, the restaurants, the beach - we enjoyed all of it. A warning: they are undergoing major work right now (discovered mold in the Alii Tower recently and have vacated it, plus there are some other renovations going on). Check before you book, to make sure these things won't interfere with where you are staying.) If you're not going too early next year, it might work out fine. Karen

The Hilton Hawaiian Village is a great spot to stay. It is self-contained on a great beach that is somewhat separated from the rest of Waikiki by the Hale Koa Hotel (a military property) and a large military park. There are pools, restaurants, shopping, lounges, production shows and just about everything one could want plus the rest of Waikiki is right there down the beach.
I would give it high marks. Enjoy your cruise and be sure to submit a review when you get back!
