Hello, Will be doing a Baltic Capitals Cruise in August. Can anybody give me a rough idea of the cost of shore excursions and city shuttles, ie Helsinki, Stockholm, Tallin, Copenhagen and St. Petersburg. Many thanks.
take a look at portreviews and you find many informations.
We have done the cruise last year with the Jewel OTS. It was wonderful, but for may a little bit too cold. All citys offers shuttle transport to the centrum, behalve St. Petersburg. For St. Petersburg it´s neccessary to book a tour, because you must have a visa, if you will doing it on your own. Helsinki, Stockhol, Tallin and Copenhagen are wonderful cities and you can walk around by yourself. The scandinavian capitals also offer sightseeing busses for really cheap prices. They are standing at the pier. You can hop of the bus, make your sightseeing and then hop in the next bus. For Tallin we got a free shuttle to the center and here everything is in walking distance and this old town is worth to explore everything by foot.
We booked a great tour for St. Petersburg, including Hermitage and many other famous sightseeing points. It lasts 8 1/2 hours and I took a look at RCCL´s website and shore excursions and the price is now 165 $, including lunch in a russian restaurant. You can find more on the website from RCCL. Marita
Oppis, Many thanks for your reply. Did you or anybody on your cruise use DenRus which also seem to do independent tours. The only thing which seems confusing is the visa system. DenRus state on their website that they also take care of that problem, and their excursions are much cheaper.
I´ve read on another thread about St. Petersburg, that there were some discussions about independent tours. Take a look a Europe Port Chat and ckeck out the discussion about St. Petersburg.
