I hear that we can rent on-board radio's to keep track of our teenage kids while on board ship. How much is that? Could we bring our own 2-way radio's or is that against the rules?
Ever see anybody bring blow-up rafts for the beach?
I haven't seen radio rentals on board, but I just might have missed it. I have, however, seen a lot of people with their own radios/nextel type communications equipment. I also have not seen anyone bringing rafts for the beach. A lot of the beaches you visit have mats you can rent very reasonably. I have seen the blow up arm things for the children, but I would think a raft would take up too much room in the suit case.
Go to your nearest dollar store and pick up one of those air mattress like floats. They cost one dollar and are flat when left in their packaging. If you can't get it back to the same size after you deflate it, it's only a dollar lost.

You can bring your own radios. But keep in mind, the frequencies used by walkie-talkies vary around the world. I know Europe and Asia use different frequencies, so don't take American radios there, or European radios to the Americas. As I understand, Canada and most of the rest of the Americas use the same frequencies as the US.
