Booked today for November 2009 - 10 Day Caribbean Wayfarer on the Noordam. I've only been looking and trying to convince the sailing partner that it needed to be done. Took the plunge and booked a balcony. I figure booking this far ahead will give us the time to save for the luxury . . . . Now the wait.

I never realized HAL had such a "far out" schedule.

This will be our 4th on HAL... I love the elegance and the top notch service, the smaller passenger count and the quiet days at sea. It's pretty amazing that they are actually listing cruises into Dec 2009 already. As you can see from my ticker - I'm still over 600 days out, but I'm only having to save less than $10/day... Let's just hope I don't forget to book air and hotel in November.

Veendam had the most spectacular dessert buttet (or burfets if you will) I have ever seen; it completely encircled the Lido pool. There were also a couple of lunch buffets by the pool; and their Lido Restaurant is basically a buffet line, which actually kept things much more orderly than Princess' concept of many different "islands".

Congratulations! I just returned from a 11-night Eastern Caribbean cruise on Noordam and it was fabulous. The verandah cabin is well worth the extra cost - it was a delight. Can't wait to do it again.

We're excited about the cruise and the balcony, me more so than DH at this point. I had been planning this cruise for this year, but decided that as this year will be DH's 60th birthday, he should get to decide what he wanted to do.... so far, nothing for 2008. So I made the executive decision to do what I wanted in 2009. We were on the Noordam's sister ship Zuiderdam in 2006, so we should be able to navigate without getting lost.... standard 1st day activity. We're down under 600 days - that's a good thing.
