I'm on the Zuiderdam cruising to the Eastern Caribbean Jan 25-Feb 2. I'd like to bring some Diet Coke or Pepsi aboard. Because I'm an alcoholic and therefore don't drink alcohol, I substitute diet cola for social events. I can't see paying exorbitant prices for soda. I have in mind 2 or 3 2-liter bottles for consumption in the room.

An option is to purchase a soda card when you board. You get X number of sodas for $XX - if I remember correctly, in 2006, I paid $20 for 16 sodas, and ended up not using all of my drinks on a 7 day cruise.

Thanks for your reply. Um, can you say "addictive personality"? I wouldn't make it on 16 sodas. I am aware of the soda cards, but my question remains, can I take Coke aboard without its being confiscated?

Linda we were on the Zaandam in June. We bought the soda card but would not do it again (ON A HAL SHIP) It is cheaper per oz to buy a can on soda. A can equals 2.5 glasses of soda. The will give you a glass with ice with your can and you can fill it 2.5 times.
