I was impressed that the Statendam placed the fitness center an the Lido deck (11th?). What a great way to work out on the treadmill~270 degree view of Alaska! I realize that it could have been placed in the bowels of the ship with no view (except CNN) but they chose to give it a prime location. I appreciate that a lot.
On my recent cruise I was able to use it each day and the 1/4 mile track on deck #6 was also very much appreciated as an early AM wake up walk.
I did a lot of exercising along the way, but still put on about 6#. Not as bad as I had expected.

Those pics make a person want to exercise. I love those views. I have cruised Alaska twice, once on the Oosterdam and once on the Ryndam, loved both ships. May have to check out that exercise room when we go up there again in 2008. Thanks for sharing the pics. I do medical transcription, working from home, and last year on the Ryndam when I was on the computers I thought "Wow, if I could have this view all the time, I wouldn't mind sitting at the computer all day." Its truly breath taking up there. Thanks for sharing.
