I am signed on to the Gems of the Baltic cruise in June. I'm told I have a "guaranteed outside cabin, Category F," but I'm also told I have no cabin actually assigned to me as yet. I'd much appreciate an explanation. Thanks! ML

Marialivia,

having a "guaranteed outside cabin, Category F" means that you will get at least a cabin in the above category, but you might get upgraded to a higher category. There is a cabin assigned to you (i.e. your reservation is firm) but you have not yet been assigned a cabin number. Usually, your cabin number will be included in your cruise docs that you will receive a couple of weeks before departure. Smile

Best regards,

Raoul Fiebig

We booked a guaranteed inside cabin in the second last category (deck 3 or 4) and were upgrade to a cabin on deck 9.

Another time we also booked an inside guaranteed cabin and got an outside cabin.

Normally you get the information about your cabin number with getting the documents. But I got a reservation number and checked the cruiselines website and saw my cabin number yet listed.

But I know from many other people, that they never have been upgraded with a guarantee cabin.

Good luck, Marita

Thanks so much. Actually, the "guaranteed outside cabin" is in itself an upgrade -- we had signed on for an inside cabin! I'm happy with the outside cabin we've been upgraded to, but I was wondering about the use of the word "guaranteed."

I very much appreciate your help. ML Wave

"Guarenteed" means: There is a cabin booked for you on the cruise. You will be sure to have a cabin. If there is one free in an other category, you migt have an upgrade. But THAT is not sure.
