I would like to know if anybody knows of a hotel to stay at near the port of Miami? I have heard they are cheaper near the airport. Names would be great. Also i would like to know if you are allowed to take an iron or do they have one you can use? Thank you so much... Smile

Parrothead, do not take an iron. Fire Hazard! They are available in the laundry service room with ironing boards.

If money is no object and you want a truly awesome hotel.... The Delano... On Miami Beach is spectacular.

The Holiday Inn is a great place to stay downtown. It is right across from the Bayside Mall. You can get a bite to eat, shop and have a drink at the Mall. I enjoyed it. Not too expensive either.

I agree - the Holiday Inn is great. We just got back from the Triumph on Feb 24 - March 3 and stayed at the holiday Inn 2 nights before. You will love the Bayside Mall - great restaurants and shopping. And, there is a liquor store 2 blocks from the hotel - just in case you want to take some wine. We paid $125 for a Thursday night and $160 for Friday night. Grabbed a cab on Saturday morning and were at the ship in 5 minutes.

We stayed at the holiday inn at the port of miami. It was a very nice hotel and you could see the ships as they came into port and it's right across from the bayside mall which is also very nice.

Have to say it again "Holiday Inn Port of Miami"
Great place, save and just minutes from shopping. If you join Priority Club as a member
you get the better rooms, it's free to join,
so I recommend highly before booking with Holiday Inn.

If you Google "hotels at Port of Miami" there is a web site and map for all the hotels at the port. I have reservations at Marriott Miami Biscayne Bay and InterContinental. With everyone suggesting Holiday Inn I may look into it.

I'm happy to see people suggesting Holiday Inn, Port of Miami. I have reservations there for my first cruise in December. Hope to read a lot more here during the summer and fall. I'm so excited about my cruise, but I don't want to wish the summer away!

:-)

Look at this:

That's the Holiday Inn Port of Miami hotel.

It's facing the BAYFRONT PARK incl. BAYSIDE MARKET (Walking distance from hotel 30 seconds to 1.30 minute - depends to your walking speed!).

Here you see the BAYSIDE MARKET and you hotel right at the background.

And if you make now a 180°-turn you see this picture which was taken from the BAYSIDE MARKET:

Now you can imagine how close the port is to the Holiday Inn Port of Miami Hotel.
