We are taking the July 22 Legend of the Seas cruise. We are arriving in Rome on the 21st. We decided rather than putting up with the hasssle of watching and transferring our luggage we are probably best oof staying at the airport, purchasing transfers from the cruise line and doing what ever touring (Vatican City) form the hotel as our base. Consequently, I would like a recommendation for a hotel as close to the airport as possible, or one that offers free shuttle service to the airport. It looks like we won't have as much time for sightseeing as I thought, so I figure we'll just go to the Vatican the day we arrive, and with whatever little time we have on that day shoot over to some of the other Rome sites. On the 22nd we'll just plan on getting over to the airport and catching the shipps shuttle. Any suggestions will greatly be appreciated.

You might like consider the Holiday Inn ROME-EUR PARCO DEI MEDICI - it has a shuttle bus to & from both the airport and the city centre. We stayed there a couple of years ago and it was very comfortable.
