Hi all, My wife and I are on the Victory August 9-14. We are coming in the Newark the evening of August 7. We would like to stay in NYC, but are looking for a good location to stay that has a shuttle to the cruise terminal for Sat AM. Any suggestions? Also, of the suggestions, we could use ideas on how to get to the suggested hotel from Newark airport. I doubt anyone shuttles from Newark airport into NYC. I know I posting the hotel question some time ago, but I thought this would be a little more detailed since we are coming in from Newark. Thanks! Thanks! Eric

There is a reasonable shuttle from Newark airport to all Manhattan hotels, which is goairlinkshuttle.com. It is $34 for two adults, one way, from Newark airport to any Manhattan hotel. I believe they allow two bags per person, and extras are $10 each.
If you are just coming in the night before the cruise and will not have time to explore Manhattan anyway, you might want to consider one of the much less expensive hotels right at the Newark airport area, which free airport to hotel shuttle. The same shuttle service as I mentioned above will shuttle you from Newark airport to the NY cruiseport for the same price as above. For example, the Sheraton Newark airport hotel starts at $155 per night for Aug. 7.
(I just noticed you will there two nights). You can also, if you choose to stay both nights in this area, take the Air train to and from the city on the 8th, , which only takes about 20 minutes. There is also a less expensive but more time consuming Newark Airport Express Bus that takes you from the airport to four different stops in Manhattan. Round trip on that is $22.
Thanks SD. Some great ideas. Sounds like Newark makes more financial sense. The price to the terminal is great for Saturday too. I assume that if we stay at the hotel at Newark airport that we should shuttle back to the airport on the one full day we have to shuttle into NYC, or does this shuttle pick up at the hotel and go into NYC? Thanks!

I know nothing about staying in NYC, but my husband and I stayed at the Wyndham in Newark last year when we left out of Bayonne, and it was wonderful. I'd highly recommend it if you decide to stay in Newark instead.
