Does anyone know what airport you fly into for Puerto Rico? Is it SJU? Also doesn anyone know about the hotels around the airport. I need some names for closest ones. Thanks in advance.

The airport is SJU. As far as close hotels, there is a Best Western right at the airport called the Best Western San Juan Airport Hotel & Casino. If you are willing to take a cab a short disance, maybe a $5 to $10 ride, you can either go to the Marriott Courtyard, The Hampton Inn, or if you want to splurge, the Ritz Carlton. The Marriott Courtyard and the Ritz Carlton are right next to each other on the beach, and the Hampton Inn is only a block or two from them, but not on the beach. Hope this helps.

I forgot to add that both the Embassy Suites and the Isla Verde Holiday Inn are also just a short cab ride. I have stayed at the Embassy Suites and have liked it. Any of the ones I suggested would be fine.

Depending on what ship you're sailing you may or may not be sailing from Old San Juan pier. There are two cruise piers there. The RCCL Adventure OS is at Panamerica pier (a 15-20 minute drive from SJU airport) along with, I believ Carnival Destiny. All the other ships use Old San Juan. Book your hotel near Old San Juan (the above post is a great one for hotel selection) regardless of the pier you're sailing from. There is nothing of interest near Panamerica pier.

Cheers, Neil

They moved this and I just found it. Your saying then that Destiny does NOT go out of the Old San Juan port????

It probably depends on the number of ships in port or the depth of the ships. In either case, they're not far from each other. It is better to book a hotel, as has been posted, near Old San Juan.
