Leaving on Freedom 11 Feb. 2007. Looking for reasonable price (under $120.00) hotel/motel in Miami the night before. Any suggestions?
Anyone stayed at Red Roof Inn Miami airport? Room price is good with free shuttle to port. Appreciate any feedback on this property.

As stated many times in here, The Holiday Inn Port of Miami is a good choice. The room will cost around $120 depending on where you reserve it... You can try Hotels.com or Expedia, but I have had good luck just going to the Holiday Inn website.

Never stayed at the Red Roof Inn... If they can offer you a free shuttle to the port, that's not a bad deal as a Taxi will cost you $25 to $30 depending on how long they have to wait in line to drop you off.

If you do go that route (Red Roof Inn and Shuttle), make sure you reserve your shuttle ride time as soon as you sign into the hotel. If you wait until you are ready to go the next day, the shuttle may be booked up. (Doesn't hurt to try to call ahead to the hotel and put in a reservation on the shuttle before you even get there.) And go early to the port (like 10 or 11) to avoid the crowd. If you get there early enough you can at least wait inside the terminal building where there is air conditioning. (Not super critical in Feb. but still nice)

How are you guys getting these prices? I've got 2 rooms booked in early Jan. '07 at the Port of Miami Holiday Inn and by calling them, the rooms were $173.00 plus tax each, so a total of over $200.00 each for one night.

Seems pricey to me Susan. I got my prices off of the Holiday Inn website. But that price is NON REFUNDABLE. As soon as you book it, the rate is charged to your credit card and you use it or loose it. So, the price is less, but if you are definetely cheaper than the "standard" rate.

Try priceline or Expedia or Orbitz for other hotels. If you know where you want to hotel, you can find a good deal.
