Where is a good place to stay in Miami that is close to the port?

From what I have read elsewhere, the Holiday Inn is right across the street from the Port and is a good place to stay. You can usually get a good rate, if it's not high season.

I always stay at the Holiday Inn Port Of Miami. It is right across the street from Bay Side Market. You can walk right across the street for your evening entertainment, meals, shopping. No having to pay for taxis to go back and forth for the evening.
