Hi, I am cruising in January and wonder how much it costs to get a cab from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami Port. We are arriving in Ft. Lauderdale the day before, and will stay at hotel there. Then we will commute to Miami port the next day for our cruise.....how much will this cost???
Hi shellaroo42, welcome to Cruise-Chat. The cab fare should be around $75-$80. You might want to check with SuperShuttle as well. If you're staying close to the intracoastal waterway in Ft. Lauderdale, be sure and take the water taxi. It's a great way to see Ft. Lauderdale. It's $10/pp per day and you can get on and off as many times as you like. Take the taxi all the way to the end of the line. There's a great restaurant there-Charlie's Crab. Also, the Pier 66 Bar & Grill has great food. Best wishes and have a wonderful time!
If you like to shop, get off of the water taxi at one of the Las Olas Boulevard stops. There are a lot of neat shops there and some cafes along the street as well. The Floridian is there and has a good breakfast. Birch State Park is right off of A1A and Sunrise Boulevard, it's a nice place to spend a relaxing afternoon. There's the Galleria Shopping Center on Sunrise Boulevard. Oh, almost forgot, the Sea Watch Restaurant. It's in north Lauderdale, so you'd have to take a cab. But, it's right on the ocean and has great food. The Bahia Mar Marina (I love to walk through and look at the Yachts)is right on A1A. You used to be able to get into Port Everglades, but they may not let you just drive through any more. You can go under the 17th street causeway bridge and look at the ships docked. Of course, the beach. Not sure which itinerary you're taking, but there are tons of posts in the Caribbean Port Section of this board. Miami has tons to do, South Beach, Crandon Park Zoo, Miami Seaquarium, Villa Viscaya, tons of shopping and restaurants. Hope this gives you some suggestions. Best wishes!

Penny3333, is that the Bahia Mar Marina that is within walking distance from the Sheraton Yankee Clipper; if so, we have had a relaxing dinner there and enjoyed looking at the yachts and being under the stars one evening a couple of years ago.
It sure is Peter1. The next time you're in Lauderdale, do try and take the taxi to the end and have dinner at Charlie's Crab. It's on the intracoastal as well. Or Pier 66 Bar and Grill, you can see Port Everglades and the ships in port. SandyP, have a great time
