We have a group of 6 or 8 adults with 10 days worth luggage. How can we find a taxi van to get us from airport to cruiseport? Will some be waiting outside airport or do we need to make reservation plans ahead of time? Any idea of the cost, or it be better pricewise to split up and take seperate cars?

I purchased the transfer from airport to ship from Princess for only $10.00 pp; so it couldn't be any more, and probably less for a group. I've seen other posters say there is an abundance of cabs and shuttles at the airport, and it's only a short ride to the piers.

I would just grab a taxi. There is a constant flow of taxis at the airport. If you go to the airport's taxi line, the attendent can get you a couple SUV or Mini Van taxis to take you all in. Worst case you need three. If the transfer cost $10 each per F-Mattox, then I can't imagine three taxis costing more than the $60 to $80 you would pay in transfers.

We got five of us (My wife, mother in law, two young daughters, and myself) into one minivan taxi plus our 8 bags. It was a tight fit but it was not that long of a ride. If you can get a big SUV for a taxi even easier.

You can get a shuttle service for $7 per person that will take your whole group. Last October my wife and I took a cab and it cost a total of $20 with the tip. We use to use a shuttle company call Top Shuttle, but they might not be is business any more. HERE is a link to another shuttle service.

Hello,

My question is different. We will be renting a car at FLL the day before our cruise (4 adults) and we will be staying in north Fort Lauderdale.

It seems that the car rental agency may not have a shuttle from FLL to the cruise port. Is there any other way for me to go from FLL to the cruise port other than using a taxi? I like to walk but is this feasible and is public transportation from FLL to the cruise port? I plan on dropping off the others at the cruise port and then returning the car to FLL.

Thanks,

Fred

Fruby, there is more than one location to drop your rental car at. You might want to call your rental agency and ask about a free shuttle. If you take a taxi it will cost less than $20.

Yes, there will be taxis when you return. A taxi for two is less than $20.

Thanks Sonny. Also, do you know if there are any stores nearby the ships, somewhere I can purchase some Items I could not carry on?

There's a Walgreens near the port and a CVS as well. I think the CVS is on the north side of 17th Street Causeway and the Walgreens is on the south side, right at the port entrance.
