My Mom and I are looking to get transportation one way from Austin to Houston. We sail Sept. 2 on the Rhapsody. Any advice on how best to do this would be appreciated. The one way car rental plus shuttle fee is quite high. Thanks!
We faced a similar situation when trying to get from Houston to Galveston for a cruise. After a lot of research we found the best deal was to simply rent a car (one-way) from Enterprise. They have a dealership less than a mile from the port and they will give you free shuttle service to the ship. In fact, we followed their advice and first dropped our luggage at the port, than drove over to Enterprise, and than they shuttled us (and a few others) back to the ship in a nice van. We were able to get a really good deal on-line and I recall we only paid about $45 for the car.
