I'm wondering if I should purchase the Princess transfers from LAX to the Pier in San Pedro, which would cost $200 for the 4 of us....or...would it be easier to take a taxi? Our flight will arrive at LAX at 9:05 a.m. I have no idea what the distance is. Thank you...
Hello again. I live in the area and I would suggest using Super Shuttle. Taxis are outrageously expensive in L.A. and the Princess shuttle will cost you more than double the Super Shuttle.
I checked Mapquest and it is 19.21 miles from LAX to the International Cruise Ship Terminal in San Pedro; and the estimated time is 22 minutes, which, on a Saturday is probably pretty close.
Super Shuttle will cost you $17 pp plus gratuity. You can reserve your van in advance at supershuttle.com. You can even reserve your return to the airport in advance--and pay in advance, which eliminates a lot of hassle before and after your cruise.
Hope this helps.
Oh, if your plane lands at 9:05, you may have a short wait at the terminal before you can board; but it's a modern facility and Princess will make you comfortable. I just mention this because once you get to the terminal you may not see your checked luggage for several hours so be sure you have any necessities in your carry-on bags.
Once again, have a great cruise.

I live in Southern California, and I also recommend Super Shuttle, to go from LAX to the cruise terminal for Princess. You can pre book your trip via Super Shuttle's website, and you may get lower rates if you are a senior, AAA member, AARP and so on. We have used Super Shuttle several times within the last year and they have been great in terms of service and price.
When you arrive at LAX and you have your luggage, exit the terminal and you will see Super Shuttle's blue vans lined up. Make sure that you have the address of the Princess cruise terminal and that you get on the shuttle going to the cruise terminal.
My adult daughters frequently fly back and forth between Northern and Southern California and they both use Super Shuttle. They reserve on line and really love the service.
