Has anyone stayed at the Holiday Inn San Juan (1 C Mariano Ramirez Bages) Or the Holiday Inn Isla Verde (8020 Calle Tartak)? We'd appreciate any comments on either spot (positive or negative). We're staying 2 nights at the first hotel pre-cruise and one night post-cruise at the 2nd . We're just looking for a clean, safe and non-expensive place to sleep and don't plan to spend much time inside.
I just saw this post, but am going to answer despite the lapse in time. I stayed at the Embassy Suites on Tartak several times, and went into the relatively new Holiday Inn. It looked very nice, and is less than a block from the Intercontinental which is on the beach. Next to that is the El San Juan. Both of those are lovely hotels to hang out at; have nice casinos, restaurants, etc. There is a very pricey Japanese restaurant in the Intercontinental for dinner, but lunches are great, and a great bargain.
Also, Jacqueline, if one of your nights is a Saturday, be sure to go to the El San Juan for the greatest people watching you can imagine -- stunning, sylish clothes, etc. Loads of fun to have a drink there in their lobby and just sit for a while and observe.
