Hi there. First of all, this site is so great. I have found much information so far. Thanks.

I am from Germany and not new to cruising but new to cruising from Miami. I have done several cruises from other American ports. This year I will board the Freedom OTS Lol departing from Miami.

My question is: How can I get from the airport (my hotel is located there) to the port most quickly and cheap? I am travelling alone, so I guess a taxi just for myself would be too expensive? How long is the ride? Any suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Please excuse any mistakes I made, my English is a bit rusty.

Lucy

hello,

what hotel are you staying at? most hotels offer free shuttles or at least nominal fee for transfer to the port. i would check with them first. i'm sure your hotel would have a good ideal about the best way to get to the port.

have a great time!!

Hi ezemoney, thanks for the answer.
The hotel is the Holiday Inn at the Miami Airport. They do have a shuttle service from and to the airport but I am not sure about a shuttle service to the seaport.
I am sure though to have a terrific time. I cannot wait to go... Big Grin

P.S.: Which ship is yours in March? Have a great time also.

Hello Lucy,

first of all, welcome aboard! Wave

I am moving this thread to the Port Hotels and Transfers forum.

Also, you might want to visit our German-language section called Kreuzfahrten-Treff, as well.

Einen schönen Sonntag! Smile

Best regards,

If your hotel doesn't have a shuttle to the Seaport then you could take the shuttle to the airport and catch a taxi from the airport for a flat fee of $24. It probably would be a little bit more taking the taxi from your hotel straight to the port. It takes 15-20 minutes depending on traffic.

LUGI-

From ezemoney's fine post it appears that the hotel offers a free shuttle to the port. That is good. But from experience, I know that you should reserve a spot on the shuttle as soon as you check in. There may be many people going to the port and seating on the shuttle will fill up quickly. Do not think you can just wake up in the morning, checkout and jump on a bus to the port.. or you may not be able to go to the port when you expect to.

Hi, Jim. Thanks, that is what I intend to do.
I guess since this is an airport hotel that there will be someone available even at 10 p.m. because I will be checking in that late. I hope there will be some shuttles available early and a bit later in the day so that I can catch one of the shuttles. But if not then I´ll just have to stick with a shuttle from the airport or a taxi. Thanks to all the responses I have a few options in mind.
