I read some of the older posts about hotels in Galveston that offer free parking and shuttle...looking for a more recent opinion on where to stay. Any one been recently and have a suggestion? Thanks!

The only two I know of, I'm sure there are others, would be the Howard Johnsons. A budget choice but I get good reports overall, clean and a good place for a bed for the night. The other is San Luis Resort on Seawall Blvd. This is the finest hotel in Galveston and the pricing will reflect it. Wish I had other options for you but these are the only two I have any first hand knowledge of.

The Holiday Inn was another, but you should call and ask. I'm assuming they still do the shuttle thing as it is a great incentive for you to book with them.
