I have booked a Princess Cruise out of Fort Lauderdale (Star Princess). I've been looking for a hotel that has complementary shuttles to/from the Ft Lauderdale Airport as well as to/from the cruise ship. I realize that it's not a big deal to get a taxi, but thought it would be nice. Anyone have suggestions? I've looked at a million hotels online, only a few give shuttle information. Thought it would be easier to ask here.
Hi Renee, I can also suggest the Comfort Inn, Hampton Inn and Springhill Suites on Stirling Blvd. All 3 hotels are next to each other and are owned by the same company. So, they leave the gates open between the properties so that you can use the facilities at all three. They all provide transfers from the airport and to the pier. Nancy
Hi Renee, I was in the same predicament as you, I know you can get taxis with no problem, but they can really add up!! We fly into FtLauderdale and sail out of there also. After MUCH searching, I came up with a hotel that is 50 yards from Ft Lauderdale beach, offers complimentary airport and cruiseport shuttle. Also a free breakfast buffet. It's the Best Western Oceanside Inn @ 1180 Seabreeze Blvd. phone #954-525-8115. I called the hotel directly and got a poolview room cheaper than any of the website(hotels.com, expedia, etc.)!!

We used the Holiday Inn Express. They picked us up at the airport, the room was reasonable and included breakfast. They have a shuttle to the boat but we were late getting into the hotel and found we could only schedule a 3:00 shuttle. We called for a taxi, which cost us $5.00.
The hotel is within walking distance to the pier, in fact we did walk to the boat and back in the morning just for exersize. Funny how there is all this security to drive into the pier but we were able to walk up and touch the boat. There is also a shopping center across the street from the Holiday Inn just in case you need some last minute items
sometimes for the money you spend on the hotels that offer "complemery" service between the airport to the hotel and/or cruise ships you might be better served staying at a hotel that is less money and just take the taxi's.
I like the Tropi Rock each time I go out of Fort Lauderdale.

I have stayed at the Best Wesetern Marina Harbor just because they offered shuttle service from the airport and to the ship. It was a mediocre room, but the staff was friendly and they had a great outdoor pool bar. Rate was reasonable and you could see the ships docked. Suzi
It may help you as it did to me, to try the new service: FortLauderdale Cruise & Airport Shuttle http://www.fortlauderdaleshuttles.com/ They offer very nice packages if you talk to Walter, one its members. Cris not very frequent traveller
We just returned from cruise on Celebrity's Century to eastern caribbean. Don't like to drive into Ft. Lauderdale. Traffic is terrible at almost any time. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on Rt. 84. It is very near the port but I wouldn't want to try and walk it as someone mentioned here on the chat line. Took their shuttle with a bunch of other cruise-bound folks...right to the door...no problem. Left our car right there in the parking lot in front of the motel door for 9 days...came back there by taxi...didn't want to bother with shuttle...stayed another night and next day drove back up to SC on that **##!!^^!!! Interstate 95 throught that zoo of traffic at Jacksonville and got home in one piece...thank heavens! No more drive-to -Ft. Lauderdale departures for us !!! we're going again Dec. 27 on Holland America out of Tampa....gluttons for punishment I guess. Just don't like to have to contend with airports after being a million-miler with Delta in years gone by. That Holiday Inn Express is new and there is a really great Diner just down the road towards the port from there called LESTER'S. That's something special there. Try it. You will be impressed.
