Sorry me again- have so many questions & the carnival website don't really help to much. ANyways does anyone know if where in Miami the port for this cruise ship actually is- I'm trying to book a flight down there & a hotel for the night before but there seems to be 2 or 3 airports in Miami it shows, so just wondering which one I should fly into & also if there are any good hotels that are close to the port that way I don't have to pay alot in taxi fares before I even leave for this trip. If anyone could help me thanks

Edit: Moved to Port Hotels and Transfers. RF

NEWTOCRUSIN,

the Port of Miami is situated on Dodge Island. All cruise terminals are very close together there. Any hotel near Bayside Marketplace is only a short taxi ride from the port.

Miami International (MIA) is the main (and closest) airport for Miami. When you do online searches often you will see flights to Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and West Palm (PBI). Those airports are little further away, but still service the Port of Miami. Transportation is readily available (and very reasonable -$17 pp) from FLL to Miami - so if the price is less - use that airport.

As far as hotels, Raoul has already suggested anything near Bayside Marketplace and that is about as close as you are going to get to the Port of Miami. If you are looking for something reasonably priced in a great location there - check out the Holiday Inn - Port of Miami on Bayside. But, there are also hotels near the airport that offer free shuttle service to the port.

Hope this helps -
Nancy

Also be sure to allow plenty of time to catch your return flight after the cruise, especially if you are flying in and out of Ft Lauderdale! It could take an hour or so to get between Miami and Ft Lauderdale, especially in traffic.
