We did the same thing on a cruise out of Miami. I tried to find the place we stayed but it looks like it doesn't exist anymore. It was down on Brickell Ave. by the Rickenbacker Causway. We took a walk out the causeway and were very shocked by the number of homeless people and amout of human waste on the islands out there. I don't suggest that walk. We took a bus to the Bayside Market Place. It was nice, but VERY Crowded. We ate dinner there (can't remember the place) and the wait was very long and the service was very poor. And PLEASE. If you take a bus back to your hotel, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE get the right one and not the one that takes you for an "interesting" tour of North Miami. We finally made it back to Bayside and took a cab to the hotel. We took a cab to the port the next morning with no problems.
