Anyone ever thought of sleeping at the airport the day before your cruise departs? Say your flight comes in very late the night before....into fort lauderdale...
Don't do that. Why show up for your cruise all disheveled, looking like you slept in a homeless shelter? Get a room - even if it is late. Get a few hours sleep in a real bed and then have a hot shower and breakfast. You'll show up for the cruise with a much better outlook.
I have never made that plan, but once on the way to a Med cruise, it seemed the airlines decided I should do just that. Lucklily I was stuck in Amsterdam, and they have these really neat recliners, but still, all in all, NOT a good plan. I had planned a two day pre-cruise stay....hhhhmmmmm.

Been there done that. It is an awful experience. It was not by my doing. It happened in Feb, 06 on the AOS out of Puerto Rico. The huge snowstorm caused AA to move my flight up a day. Therefore we arrived on Saturday afternoon for a Sunday cruise. The Rolling Stones were performing and there was not a hotel to be had. My wife, son and I were stranded at the airport for nearly 20 hours and we watched several movies on the portable DVD player. As others have stated here it completely ruined the first night of the cruise as we were in our rooms sleeping soon after dinner.
