Dave, thank you for your help. I checked the web site you gave me. You were right, the two-room suites are really nice with all the features. But it looks like it has only 1 king bed, and we have six people. It's nice that there's a room with cruise parking, but we really don't need that. Do you know if there's any way we can get one of the cruise parking rooms, but pro-rate the price since we don't need the cruise parking?
I recall our suite having two double beds in the bedroom and a sofa bed in the other room. The cruise parking has always been included for all guests, not just for specific rooms. They had a grass lot next to the hotel for people to park in. So I'd say there is no pro-rata option. You'd have to call the hotel directly to see.
Thanks, Dave.I'll call them. And one more thing ,we need transportation from the airport to the hotel, and from the port back to the airport(on the day we flight back home). Can you suggest anything? Thanks a lot. -Tanya
We usually get a limo for the Port Canaveral cruises, and arrange for them to do the whole thing - MCO to the hotel, and ship to MCO. It isn't much more than a taxi would be - of course that isn't especially cheap, so it really comes down to what your budget can afford. I just like the personal service of a limo.
Actually, the one I have used there gave me a bad experience the last time. Happy Limo. They screwed up our pickup at the ship and I had to take a taxi. I did get a prompt refund from Happy. But I won't use them again. I have heard good things about Royal Limo but I have not used them yet.
Mears Transportation is the biggest operator in central Florida.
Dave, thank you for your quick reply. I guess I'll have to call and check around for a taxi, and maybe a limo .I've already booked a 2 king bed suite at Radisson hotel.I am so excited, can't wait for the cruise to come.
Consider renting a car in Orlando (Avis) and dropping it off at the cape. We are renting a mini van for $60. If there is more than one in your party, its not a bad deal. You should call AVIS in Canaveral and see if there is some means of getting you to the hotel (or maybe the hotel shuttle can be arranged to pick you up from Avis?)

Actually, there was an Avis office at the Radisson. I am not sure if they still have it. People would rent a car at MCO, drive to the hotel, turn the car in, and then pick up another car when the cruise was over. Avis picked you up at the ship.
I just checked and the Avis office is now a mile down the road from the hotel. I guess there wasn't enough volume to keep the hotel Avis office open. Still - it is only a mile away.
That would have been nice. I had called the Avis office and they told me they had a shuttle to/from the port every 15 mins or so. I would assume they could (or do) make the hotel a stop fo rthe shuttle. But a verification call to the office would be a safe bet.
Originally we were going to do the hotel the day before thing, but I found an early flight that gets us into Orlando at 10AM and there is a second that gets in at 12ish in case there is an issue. Either way we should be able to make it to the ship on time. That and we decided to detour at Disney after the cruise, so I didn't want to incure the extra day

Thanks Dave and Jim, for checking and all your advice. I'm going to call Avis. Thank you for all your help with our first cruise and clearing everything up. Thanks again. -Tanya
