Hi all,
It looks like we are going to go ont he Victory in August out of NYC. Any thoughts on good hotels to stay at for a couple nights after the cruise? Something easy to get to after the trip.
Thanks!

etinca,
These 2 are both clean and reasonable(yes, hard to believe for NYC). Very easy access from cruise ship terminal.

Parking garage - free, also unheard of in NY. You may take your car in/out at The Travel Inn.

Close to the West Side Highway.

Both have swimming pools.

We are staying there next weekend. $200 per night. That's an unheard of price in NYC. Most hotels are $450 and up, per night.

Another hotel we like to stay at is:
http://www.skylinehotelny.com/

There are no in/out parking privileges at The Skyline. They charge $10.00 flat fee to park your vehicle in their garage during your stay.

If you are cabbing it over to either hotel from the terminal, this info. doesn't apply.

Good luck.

etinca, there are many hotels in NYC, so let us know a bit more about what you're seeking. For instance, what attractions do you plan to see during your post-cruise stay? Do you prefer a large, chain hotel or a small, boutique hotel? Do you care about a view? Will you have a car with you? How many are in your party? (Kids?)

I travel to NYC often on business (in fact, will be there next week), and it usually requires an overnight stay.

Happy cruising,
LisaP

Lisa, could you give me some Manhattan hotels to stay in 3 days before our Princess cruise on September 18(our first trip to NYC). We want to be near the attractions, but not pay outrageous rates for two adults. Guess we will take a taxi to the ship since we will already be in town and have to check out at 1pm so can get there early, hopefully before the traffic jams.

Thank you,
NP2223

Hi NP, and welcome to cruise-chat.

I have the same questions for you as I posted to etinca above. My favorite hotel is the Hilton New York, but I usually stay there on business, and therefore someone else is footing the bill. But, it might not be the right hotel for everyone. Let me know more of your preferences and I'll help narrow down your options.

Happy cruising,
LisaP
