Hobby is definitely closer to Galveston than Bush. However, unless you are flying from within Texas, or from that general region of the country, you may not be able to get a direct flight into Hobby, but will have to change planes somewhere. And flights into Bush have more competition from many areas, meaning fares are lower. There are many factors to consider when looking into flights for a Houston cruise.

Bush has more of a choice of flight times and airlines and the I 45 takes you directly to Galveston..

Sorry Dave.. didn't see this until now, but Karen gave the correct answer. Hobby is the older airport and services the commuter airlines more (and Southwest). So it may be harder to get a flight into it. But it is the closer Airport. Bush is on the opposite side of Houston. I can't give a lot more adice than that since we typically drive to Galveston. My sister came in from Chicago in October. She flew into Dallas (DFW) and saved about $800 for the family. I lent her one of my cars and we drive down the day before. Not that its an option for most people (I'm a nice guy but I don't lend out cars to just anyone ) Check both airports for fares, Hobby is closer, but not so much so that its worth the extra money for a more expensive flight.
